Brunch for the Bay 2025

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT! Thank you to everyone for your support!
We hope to see you at our next fundraising event in April 2026!

Suncoast Waterkeeper presents its annual Brunch for the Bay featuring our keynote speaker, Rob Bilott!

Known worldwide as the attorney who took on chemical giant DuPont and uncovered the dangers of PFAS contamination, Rob’s “David and Goliath” story was depicted in the 2019 feature film, Dark Waters. He has since dedicated his career to protecting communities from the toxic threat of “forever chemicals.” At Brunch for the Bay 2025, Rob will present Uncovering the Global Threat of PFAS ‘Forever Chemicals’ Contamination.

Don‘t miss this rare chance to hear directly from one of the world’s leading voices prioritizing the protection of human health. Join us for an inspiring morning of community and action to protect the waters that sustain us all!

Our fundraising brunch will also include delectable food and drinks, and the chance to connect with fellow advocates committed to protecting and preserving the waters of our beloved Suncoast.

Rob Bilott is a partner in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky offices of the law firm, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where he has practiced in the Environmental and Litigation Practice Groups for over 35 years. During that time, Rob has handled and led some of the most novel and complex cases in the country involving damage from exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (“PFAS”), including the first individual, class action, mass tort, and multi-district litigation proceedings involving PFAS, recovering billions for clients impacted by the chemicals. In 2017, Rob received the Right Livelihood Award, known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize,” for his decades of work on behalf of those injured by PFAS “forever chemicals.”  Rob is the author of the book, “Exposure,” and his story is the inspiration for the 2019 motion picture, “Dark Waters,” starring Mark Ruffalo as Rob.  Rob’s story and work is also featured in several documentaries, including “The Devil We Know” and “How to Poison a Planet.”  Rob is a 1987 graduate of New College in Sarasota, Florida, and a 1990 graduate of the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Rob also serves on the Boards of Less Cancer, the New College Foundation, and Green Umbrella and is frequently invited to provide keynote lectures and talks at law schools, universities, colleges, communities and other organizations all over the world.  Rob is a fellow in the Right Livelihood College and a Lecturer at the Yale School of Public Health.  Rob also has received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from the Ohio State University, Thomas More University, and New College.
